The PANSS Institute (TPI) was founded by the clinicians, scientists, and developers of the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale and other premier psychometric instruments.
TPI is guided by the unique and extensive expertise of the Expert Consensus Panel, © 2003, chaired by Dr. Lewis A. Opler.
As a private, independent organization, the PANSS Institute is dedicated to advancing research and treatment of psychiatric disorders based on the following principles:
- Comprehensive training and education, establishing universal standards across professions, disciplines, and continents.
- Promoting rational, ethical, holistic clinical practice at the highest standards, with universal access to the best possible treatment for all.
- Objective, scientific research designed to create better treatments for those currently suffering with psychiatric disorders and the prevention and elimination of these disorders in future generations.
- Development of the PANSS and other measures as premier tools for testing treatment efficacy.
In pursuit of these goals, we offer a wide variety of services and opportunities for clinicians, researchers, industries, regulatory concerns, and many others. These include training and certification on our psychometric ratings scales, general information on state-of-the art developments in theory and practice, healthcare communications services in our specialty areas, guidance for those designing new protocols, consultation on ongoing studies, and statistical analysis of results from clinical trials, interventions, experimental protocols, and descriptive studies.
